TONIGHT! "Rockin' for Music In Our Schools" Features Great Bands, Fantastic Prizes

Client no. 9, the Bloomingfields, Alisa Harmon and the Arsenal, Alma Schneider and the No Rehearsals, Mark Egan, Michael De Leeuw, and Now Voyagers will headline Parents Who Rock's "Rockin' for Music In Our Schools" gala benefit concert and party Saturday, April 4. The event, the grand finale in PWR's fundraising drive this season for Little Kids Rock, will feature live music, fantastic auctions and raffles, food and an open bar. It's set for 7 to 11 p.m at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 67 Church Street in Montclair. Tickets are $50 per person.

Many of the raffles and auctions feature musical prizes: drumsticks autographed by Beatle Ringo Starr, cymbals autographed by Phil Colllins, a guitar pick used by Keith Richards, tickets to see Coldplay and others at All Points West, a free Music for Aardvarks session and compilation CDs, tickets to a show at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, and lots of help for rock stars in training: songwriting lessons, guitar lessons and voice lessons. In addition, several guitars will be auctioned off, including a Gibson Melody Maker, Fender Stratocaster, and Spector Electric, as well as amps and effects.

Other great prizes include tickets to the "Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and the "Martha Stewart Show." There will also be auctions for everything from interior design consultations to pilates classes to a lunch at and a tour of The New York Times. We will be updating the list of raffle and auction items as we confirm them. Be sure to check back daily.

To purchase tickets and be listed in the event program, please print out the ticket reservation form, fill it out, attach a check made out to MFEE-LKR, and mail it to the MFEE, 22 Valley Road, Montclair, NY 07042, by March 21. You can also pay at the door at the event.
