About PWR

Parents Who Rock is a non-profit association of musicians and others based in Montclair, NJ, who volunteer their time and talents onstage and behind the scenes to raise money for non-for-profit organizations throughout the community. Since 2005, fundraising events featuring PWR artists and other volunteers, working with the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE), have netted more then $200,000 for such organizations and causes as the All-Children’s Playground, Mountainside Hospital Breast Cancer Education Center, the Montclair Rape Crisis Center, and more. With a dose of attitude mixed with mojo, Client No. 9, an alt/power-pop/rock band based in Montclair, delivers upbeat original tunes about sex and relationships, suburban-style. Their driving, soulful, funky sound has been compared to Liz Phair, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pat Benatar.

Client No. 9 features Aviva Patz (vocals), David Janowski (guitar), Greg Carson (bass) and Rick Osterberg (drums). They can be seen performing at Parents Who Rock shows and at clubs in New York and New Jersey. Their song, “Love As Far As I Know It” appears on the latest Parents Who Rock compilation CD, “Let 'Em Play.” Check out the band's myspace page.
