About PWR

Parents Who Rock is a non-profit association of musicians and others based in Montclair, NJ, who volunteer their time and talents onstage and behind the scenes to raise money for non-for-profit organizations throughout the community. Since 2005, fundraising events featuring PWR artists and other volunteers, working with the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE), have netted more then $200,000 for such organizations and causes as the All-Children’s Playground, Mountainside Hospital Breast Cancer Education Center, the Montclair Rape Crisis Center, and more. This weekend get out and dance to some great local Parents Who Rock bands! Montclair’s Sock Monster—Andy Yeates, drums; Bob Terhune, bass; John Paul Uva, guitar; and Jim Kvoriak, guitar—returns to Tierney’s Tavern on Saturday, November 19. The band finds great pop and rock songs from the ‘60s on to the present, and gives them their own danceable smart pop/punk spin. Music starts at 9 p.m. Special guests are Client No. 9, another great Montclair band you can shake it up to. $5 cover. Tierney’s is located at 136 Valley Road.
