Come on Out for 50 Rocks Benefit for Human Needs Food Pantry Dec. 2

Come celebrate Angels Garage singer Christine Kelly's 50th birthday at Tierney's Tavern Friday, Dec. 2, with a special night of great live music to benefit the Human Needs Food Pantry.

Performers include world renowned blues-harpist "Big Nancy" Wertheimer, sax-master Baron Raymonde, bassist Tony Shanahan (Patti Smith Band) guitarist Jack Petruzelli (Fab Faux, Patti Smith Band) and the professionally acclaimed Faculty Band of the Montclair School of Rock, featuring Maurice Watson, John Ginty, Mark Dollar, Kraig Marshall, Siobon Marshall, and Mark Silverberg. The NYC-Boston based band ALIENS will close the show and Angels Garage, Tierney's regulars, will open the band portion of the show.

Event host Christine Kelly, a William Paterson University professor and Montclair resident, is using the occasion of her 50th birthday to raise money and bring attention to the spike in food pantry demands resulting from a statewide increase in hunger and food insecurity. Partnering with School of Rock, Tierney's and Whole Foods Market, the "Big Birthday Rock n' Roll Benefit Bash" features well-known New Jersey musicians and local luminaries.

"Hunger and food insecurity isn't a personal problem," Kelly says. "It's a global crisis, but we can start right here in Montclair and do our part. It does take a village, and its just our good fortune that we can come together and have a blast while helping to alleviate immediate, local needs. Its been inspiring to work with committed community partners like the School of Rock."

The benefit starts at 8 p.m. with a pre-show party featuring special acoustic guest performances. From 10 p.m. to 12:30 is the band extravaganza.

Advance tickets are $25 online or at the Montclair School of Rock, and cover food, a drink ticket, and all the schmoozing and great music you can take! Tickets can also be purchased for $30 at the door. They are also available for the band only, for $10.
