3 PWR Bands Play BRADFEST to Raise Money for Bradford School, Saturday Nov. 13 at Tierney's Tavern

Three Parents Who Rock bands, all with children at Montclair's Bradford School, are getting together to raise money for the Bradford PTA with a special benefit show featuring five hours of live music.

The bands—Ruby on the Vine, Sock Monster, and the Eugene Chrysler Band— will be performing at Bradfest, a rocking parents night out to raise money for the Bradford PTA Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., upstairs at Tierney’s Tavern, 136 Valley Road in Montclair.

Bradfest will feature a cash bar, raffle and live music, including a set by each band.

Ruby on the Vine will be showcasing songs from their upcoming CD, “Along Kings Highway,” on which singer/guitarist Myrna Marcarian explores the transitions in life with worldly wise lyrics, crunchy guitar riffs and a garage rock sensibility.

Sock Monster plays a mix of smart covers—powerpop, alternative and punk shoulda-been classics, finding great songs from The Kinks, Clash and Replacements and mixing them up with more recent gems.

The Eugene Chrysler Band’s original music is a highly-danceable, rocking and rootsy blend of Texas swing, country and rockabilly, delivered with a wallop, and the over-the-top moves of frontman, Dan Karlok, aka Eugene.

The evening will end with the first-ever performance of the Bradford All-Nighters, made up of band members and other Bradford parent musicians who join forces for a late night, close-the-joint-down jam.

Tickets to Bradfest are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. To reserve tickets, go to www.bradfordpta.org and click on the Bradfest heading.
