A Night of Mischief and Music: Bloomingfields with Off the Wagon at Tierney's Tavern, This Saturday, Oct. 30

Fans of great music looking for a frightfully good way to ring in Halloween should report to the top floor at Tierney's Tavern on Saturday, October 30th, for a lineup that guarantees to be a real treat. Among the highlights brewing include back-to-back performances by local rock bands the Bloomingfields and Off the Wagon.

Fronted by Montclair husband and wife combo David Reith and Janet Donofrio, the Bloomingfields' set list includes high-energy originals mixed with covers of iconic hits from artists ranging from the Buzzcocks to the Kinks. With bassist Brendan Mee and drummer John Packel laying down irresistible dance grooves, guitarist Andy Day suggests the revelers adorn their Halloween get-ups with their favorite dance shoes.

The evening's bag of tricks also features Off the Wagon, a Montclair trio (Andrew Klewan, Fabio Giron and Shai Anbar—with a special, twangy guest for the evening!) that weaves acoustic quilts of layered harmonies and risque solos spun around timeless melodies that range from classic Americana to British Glam from the thrice-familiar to quasi-obscure. Montclair resident Paul Ward will emcee the evening with hyper-local and timely comedy routines.

Tierney's Tavern is located at 136-138 Valley Road, Montclair. Doors open at 8:30. $5 cover.
