Parents Who Rock: Compás Brings Latin American Music to Benefit for Community Pre-K, March 19

Parents Who Rock is a non-profit association of musicians and others based in Montclair, NJ, who volunteer their time and talents onstage and behind the scenes to raise money for non-for-profit organizations throughout the community. Since 2005, fundraising events featuring PWR artists and other volunteers, working with the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE), have netted more then $200,000 for such organizations and causes as the All-Children’s Playground, Mountainside Hospital Breast Cancer Education Center, the Montclair Rape Crisis Center, and more. Compás, an eclectic band playing music from all over Latin America, will be performing at Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, 67 Church St., Saturday, March 19th. The show is a benefit for the Montclair Community Pre-K, and runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Compás plays Cumbias, Sons (Cuban salsa), Boleros, Latin rock, and more. The band members are Adrienne Riofrio (vocals, violin, guitar); Dario Scholis (guitar); Erik Feder (percussion); John Acevedo (percussion) and Juan Pablo Cano Sanchez (bass).
