Experienced Guitarist Looking for Musicians to Play With

Guitarist/rhythm/finger stylist looking for part time musicians to perform with. Female Singer Looking for a Band
Are you looking for a female singer for your band, someone to take the lead vocals on some songs and balance out others, someone to front the band perhaps? I have sung with a few different bands in my area in Northern NJ, have recorded with collaborators in Manhattan and NJ and sat in on occasion with local friends who have bar gigs.

The economy took my attention away form music for a while and I am very homesick. I need to get back to practicing a few times a month. I just want to have fun and SING, would love to do some non profit gigs or open mikes. Practicing is always better when you have a show to look forward to.

Looking for a band of late 30's to 50ish age musicians, preferably in or near Northern NJ, who do this as a hobby but have a goal in mind, My musical taste ranges from folk to country swing to rock, both classic and current. My voice range is fairly big. I have written a couple songs, (no great shakes), but would love to perform originals as well as covers. I am learning to play guitar, and can play percussion instruments. Please contact me at Magpie44@aol.com. I am ready to rock and roll! Posted (11/16/09).

Make this Band Complete!
Jamming Dads need more musicians to complete our band. We are a singer/rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist and drummer. We are looking for a bass player, a female vocalist and a keyboard player to complete our sound and become a full band.  We practice weekly, playing primarily classic rock, blues and R&B covers, but we're open minded and most of all just want to have fun. Would love to fill out the rhythm section and add some more vocals and instruments so we can play an occasional gig, including a future PWR event.  Nat Grauman can be reached at: pwr@natgrauman.com. (Posted 11/12/09).

Guitarist Seeks Bandmates

Hackensack A Cappella Looking for Singers
Have you ever been entranced by the meditative sound of Gregorian chant? Enjoyed the warm harmonies of the Sweet Adelines or a barbershop quartet? Delighted in the vocal stylings of groups like Rockapella and The King’s Singers, or a song like the Boyz II Men cover of “Yesterday” by the Beatles? Arrangements of a cappella music (voices without instrumental accompaniment) vary greatly in style, from the Irish classic “Danny Boy” to the contemporary hit “Every Breath You Take” by The Police…even ordinary Christmas carols! But whatever the style, the rich harmonies and smoothly blended voices of a cappella are simply irresistible!

Hackensack A Cappella is a group that enjoys exploring the beautiful sounds of
a cappella music and the pure joy of singing together. Our group is seeking additional singers from all voice parts—men and women—to join us in learning and eventually performing all different styles of music, from classical to contemporary. Open rehearsals will be held in the evening at the Hackensack Cultural Arts Center, starting the end of May (rehearsal schedule to be announced), and anyone interested is welcome to come and sing along

Note: Please join us to sing—not just as a casual observer!

You don’t have to be able to sight read, but you should have an understanding of reading music and some singing experience. If you’d like to sing with a fun, energetic and upbeat group mostly in their 20s and 30s, please contact us! (Or pass the word along to anyone who might be interested—we could also use a rehearsal accompanist, to help with notes for practice.) Send an e-mail with your voice part and musical background/interests. The group organizer will be happy to answer any questions, provide further information, and send rehearsal schedules.

Voice Instruction by Holli Ross
Do you need some help with your ability to sing the way you want to? Would you like to know how to deliver your song in a more effective way? Do you know your keys? Holli Ross is voice instructor and performer in the jazz, pop, and musical theater styles. She is presently accepting students at her home studio in Maplewood, NJ. Holli is on the voice faculty at Hofstra University, Montclair State University, and Mannes College of Music. She is also a certified speech therapist specializing in voice disorders.
