Parents Who Rock: The West Essex Chamber Players

About PWR

Parents Who Rock is a non-profit association of musicians and others based in Montclair, NJ, who volunteer their time and talents onstage and behind the scenes to raise money for non-for-profit organizations throughout the community. Since 2005, fundraising events featuring PWR artists and other volunteers, working with the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE), have netted more then $200,000 for such organizations and causes as the All-Children’s Playground, Mountainside Hospital Breast Cancer Education Center, the Montclair Rape Crisis Center, and more. The West Essex Chamber Players is a chamber music group consisting of people from all walks of life who joined forces to share a passion for music. Flutist Roy Oser practices commercial law in New York and New Jersey and is an accomplished musician, playing since the age of 12. Pianist Lisa Weber is a middle school general music teacher who has played piano since the age of 7. Clarinetist Valerie Paik works for a web design, development and hosting company, teaches camp; performs belly dance and has been playing clarinet since age 13. Cellist Nancy Connell is a molecular biologist who studies infectious diseases at UMDNJ and has been playing since the age of 8.
