About PWR

Parents Who Rock is a non-profit association of musicians and others based in Montclair, NJ, who volunteer their time and talents onstage and behind the scenes to raise money for non-for-profit organizations throughout the community. Since 2005, fundraising events featuring PWR artists and other volunteers, working with the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE), have netted more then $200,000 for such organizations and causes as the All-Children’s Playground, Mountainside Hospital Breast Cancer Education Center, the Montclair Rape Crisis Center, and more. With their pulsating and energetic style, Hamstrung delivers a vibrant mix of classic rock and pop covers with punk attitude. This unique group of characters draws upon their diverse musical styles to stir up the rebel-rouser within.

Daphna, lead singer: “This is not a hymn, this is rock and/or roll.”

Jon E. Ru, bass: “Prepare for giblet vibration!”

John, guitar: “We're gonna vent our frustration… If we don't, we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse.”

Ben Gruder, keys: “I have never met Napoleon but I plan to find the time.”
